Runway ready – the nail trends that ruled New York Fashion Week AW26

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) took place 11-16 February, featuring over 60 runway shows and 46 designer presentations.
As the ultimate indicator of what’s next in fashion and beauty, the autumn/winter event delivered bold patterns, fresh colour palettes and plenty of nail-worthy inspiration.
Here are the top trends seen across NYFW Autumn/Winter 2026…
3D accents
New York-based nail artist, @misspopnails, led nail production for Alice + Olivia’s runway show. In collaboration with Sally Hansen, pink nude nail extensions were elevated with delicate, gold floral embellishments.
Bronx and Banco took a grungier approach for its AW26 collection – and the nails followed suit. Led by Yukie Natori New York Salon & Spa, the nail team added 3D metallic studs to a pale pink-white base for an edgy, eye-catching finish.
The team took to Instagram, saying: “We took inspiration from grunge aesthetics and reimagined it through a modern, sophisticated lens. Neutral tones paired with a silver chrome base allowed the metallic details to truly stand out, creating a perfect balance between softness and edge. These designs represent the combination of grace and strength in women.”
Sharp shaping
Womenswear designer, Khaite, brought drama to nails, enlisting lead nail artist, Mei Kawajiri (@nailsbymei), to create extreme nail shapes and mismatched looks. The standout style? Long, sculpted stiletto nails that looked as sharp as the clothing.

Strong nail shapes echoed the intense aesthetic of luxury designer, LaQuan Smith. Lead nail artist, Gina Edwards (@ginaedwards_), used KISS products and commented on the nail looks via Instagram, saying: “Sharp edges and strong silhouettes paired [with the LaQuan Smith] collection for the ‘James Bond’ woman.”
Groovy geometrics
As predicted by Pinterest Predicts 2026, geometric patterns were woven into runway styles at NYFW. Elevated streetwear brand, BCD, matched monochrome clothing pieces with equally bold manicures. Lead nail tech, @k_nailedit_, crafted humbug-hued hands with the help of a five-strong nail team.
Nice ‘n’ natural
Neutral nails are often a staple for catwalk showcases, complementing any colour palette, while allowing clothing to take centre stage.
Editorial manicurist & nail brand founder, Jin Soon Choi, used products from her brand, JINsoon, to promote ‘pure, natural radiance’ in the form of ‘healthy nails’ for both the Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein autumn/winter 2026 showcases.
Womenswear brand, Sandy Liang, also gravitated towards barely-there nails, with lead nail artist, Holly Falcone (@hollyfalconenails), using products from nail brand, Celisse, to craft the princess-core claws.
