Salon in the Spotlight: Beauty Room @51, Crieff, Perthshire

Kelly Sweeney, behind Beauty Room @51, shares a behind-the-scenes look at her Glitterbels-inspired salon…

The tech trained and qualified in 2022 in builder gel and L&P acrylic with Glitterbels, and has since taken inspiration from the brand’s renowned pretty-in-pink aesthetic.

She says: ” I wanted my salon to run alongside the pink Glitterbels theme, so it would match my desk!”

While stylish, the space is also practical – located in the confines of her home. Kelly details: “I decided to change my spare room into a salon. I like the idea of working from home, which works around my children, and it means I can offer evening appointments to suit my clients’ lifestyles.”

Making clients feel comfortable and relaxed is a priority for the tech, who shares: “I wanted to create a space where clients feel they can relax. They have the opportunity to catch up on their favourite Netflix series, or listen to some music.”

You can probably guess Kelly’s go-to brand, taking centre stage in the salon: “I use all things Glitterbels, as that is the brand I trained with, so feel invested in. I offer gel, builder gel and L&P acrylic treatments. My most popular treatment is builder gel.”

As for her favourite feature of the salon, Kelly reveals: “It has to be the display frames for the Glitterbels products against the flower wall.”

Though her ambition exceeds the salons walls, as Kelly says: “I am heading to college in September to do a HNC Beauty Therapy course, which I’m super excited about. Therefore, I will be offering more treatments in the future.”
