SALON IN THE SPOTLIGHT: The Beauty & Aesthetics Parlour, Colchester

Striking with its statement wall of mirrors, The Beauty & Aesthetics Parlour, in Colchester, is a home salon that is much more than a pretty face.

Owned by Holly Whatling, the new salon is still in its first year. “I knew I always wanted to work for myself,” Holly explains. “I decided that following my maternity leave, I wanted  to convert my garage into a salon and follow my dream of having my own space.

“My home salon has all the luxury surroundings of a salon but it benefits from the convenience of easy location and parking. My opening times are more flexible to client needs and I like to work in a relaxing and un-rushed environment, making the customer experience more personal.”

The salon offers a range of treatments including manicures and pedicures with CND SHELLAC™ and VINYLUX™, as well as spray tanning, LVL Lashes, Billion Dollar Brows and Diamond Peel Microdermbrasion. “I also run monthly Anti Wrinkle Injection Clinics with a fully qualified practitioner,” Holly adds.

Holly’s salon boast practical with its nail station, private treatment room and special spray tanning room. “I am lucky enough to have a friend, Dan Reade, that works in interior design who helped come up with the theme ‘Rough Luxe’,” Holly explains. “I believe the result is an industrial glamour look that has a clean fresh walls teamed with bold accessories. The industrial chandelier and vintage mirrors to set it apart from your average beauty salon!

“It has a luxurious but edgy feel to it, a mixture of vintage and modern showing we move with the times but match it with a classic beauty.”
