Jenna Pearson, owner of Glow Beauty Studio, began her journey into the beauty industry in 2018. After completing a lash course, what started as a passion project quickly evolved into something much bigger…

Although originally trained in Law, Jenna felt drawn to the beauty industry, and her decision to enter the creative field ‘opened the door to an entirely new career path’. She says: “What started as a single treatment evolved into a full-service beauty business, which has grown organically to include a talented team with a wealth of experience.”

Glow Beauty Studio began in Jenna’s spare room, before moving into a shared salon space alongside a hair studio. As the business flourished, Jenna and her team soon outgrew the shared setting, knowing it was time to create a space of their own.

Jenna reveals that after two failed attempts to move location, a bathroom showroom became available down the road. “It couldn’t have been more perfect,” she notes. “The location was ideal: close enough to our existing salon so it was easy and familiar for our clients, but with far more space to grow. It offered a staff car park, four private parking spaces, a stock room and plenty of space to bring our vision to life.”

Glow Beauty Studio is a warm, inviting space ‘intentionally designed to help people feel at ease’. “It’s a place where clients can relax, enjoy a cuppa, chat with the team and leave feeling more confident than when they arrived,” Jenna says.

While the salon is open plan, the business owner notes that the team has been mindful to incorporate areas of privacy. “All of our nail desks are positioned within individual, secluded bays, with half-height walls separating each one,” she says. “This allows clients to enjoy a personal, one-to-one experience with their therapist, while still maintaining the light and open feel of the space.

“Creating this sense of privacy was incredibly important to me,” Jenna continues. “I never want clients to feel unable to talk openly because the person next to them might overhear. In a world where genuine connection and conversation matter more than ever, designing a space that allows uninterrupted conversation was a key priority.”

Jenna describes the Glow Beauty Studio team of six as ‘close-knit’. It comprises five beauty therapists and Jenna’s sister, a registered aesthetics nurse prescriber. “I am the director and oversee the management of the salon, training academy and our salon supplies range,” Jenna says.

“Within the team, we have an assistant manager who specialises in lash and brow services, a senior nail technician with over 15 years’ experience, a skilled beauty therapist who delivers a variety of treatments, and a beauty apprentice.”

Glow Beauty Studio offers a range of nail services, with hard gel treatments being most popular. “We use carefully selected professional brands, and choose what truly works best for our team and clients,” Jenna reveals. “We firmly believe that one size doesn’t fit all when it comes to nail health and results.”

In the future, Jenna hopes to expand her team so that the studio can offer a greater number of services. “By growing our team, we’d have the capacity to welcome more clients, expand our treatment offerings and ensure even more people can benefit from the calm, nurturing environment we’re known for,” she smiles.
