You will need:

Gel polish base coat.
Amber jelly gel polish.
Blooming gel.
Black gel polish.
Glossy gel polish top coat.

Step 1

Apply gel polish base coat and cure. Add a thin layer of amber-coloured jelly gel polish. Cure.

Step 2

Apply a thin layer of blooming gel - do not cure. On top of the uncured blooming gel, add patches of black gel polish in an irregular pattern. The less perfect this is, the better! Let the gel polish spread naturally as the blooming gel works its magic. Cure when the desired bloom effect has been achieved.

Step 3

Apply another thin layer of amber jelly gel polish to deepen the look. For a richer tortoiseshell effect, apply two layers. Cure after each application.
