Pixie White is a nail tech from Launceston, Cornwall – and a practicing witch. These are two paths that might seem worlds apart, but Pixie has woven them together seamlessly in her ‘magical cave’ salon, Alchemy Nails.
“My salon’s theme is magic, like a fantasy room,” Pixie says. “I am a practicing witch and wanted my space to reflect my personality. I sought for it to be different from other salons and hoped the theme would encourage creativity for myself and clients.”
Featuring plenty of fairy lights and foliage, the interior of Alchemy Nails reflects the magic of its owner. The exterior also lends itself to the aesthetic: “Launceston is a historic town with a castle and is quickly becoming a place for those who are interested in witches, ghosts and folklore. I feel like I fit right in,” Pixie says with a smile.
Alchemy Nails offers a serene atmosphere with a focus on escapism. “My salon is a calm, intimate environment, where clients can feel relaxed and forget the outside world for a while,” Pixie comments. “I’ve been a qualified counsellor for many years, and helping to support people’s mental health is something I feel strongly about.”
Alongside a serene space, Alchemy Nails offers most nail services, with Pixie sharing that full cover gel tips have recently become popular among her clients.
The pro also specialises in ‘the rehabilitation of nail nibblers’. “I enjoy a challenge,” Pixie reveals. “I love how happy my clients are when they break the habit and end up with nails they never thought they could have.”

A lover of nail art, Pixie often encourages clients to push her creative boundaries. She uses Nailchemy products to achieve her goals. “I started using the brand’s products a year after its launch,” Pixie reveals. “I have stuck by Nailchemy because it is reliable, exciting and very supportive.”
Alchemy Nails prides itself on being one of a kind. “I love to see people’s reactions when they walk in for the first time. I’ve had people stop by just to take pictures,” Pixie says.
Looking to the future, she is excited to continue developing her skills and wowing her clients, telling Scratch: “I love creating magic for people. I want to keep making my wonderful clients happy and inspired.”
