Charlie Wilkinson (@nailsbycharliejade), a nail technician from Eastbourne, is to host a 24-hour ‘Nailathon’ to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
“This event is being held in memory of my dad, who sadly passed away from heart disease in December 2024,” Charlie explains. “This cause is incredibly close to my heart, and I wanted to turn my profession into a way of raising awareness and funds for vital heart research.”

The pro began her nail industry journey during Covid, and opened a nail studio with support from her late father. Since then, her business her grown and she now works from a private room within a salon. Charlie will be offering nail services for 24 hours from 10am on 18 April.
“My dad was my biggest supporter throughout my nail journey, so raising money in his honour felt like the right place to put my energy,” Charlie continues. “I wanted to turn something incredibly personal into something positive while supporting a charity that means a lot to me.

“Alongside the appointments, I’ll be holding a raffle to raise additional funds, with prizes including tattoo vouchers, hair extension services and beauty products donated by a number of small businesses. I’ll be live-streaming parts of the day and documenting the experience to share the journey online, and all proceeds raised during the 24 hours will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.”

Charlie will be offering L&P acrylic, builder gel and hard gel services throughout the Nailathon, using brands she works with daily: Glitterbels, Katie Barnes Tool Range, Lucy Pastorelli, Navy Professional and Glossify. Each client will be charged their usual service price, and all money made during the 24 hours will be donated directly to charity.
“Nails aren’t just my job – they’re truly my passion,” Charlie shares. “I genuinely love every day I sit in that chair, creating beautiful nails and helping people feel confident and looked after.
“Success for me will be completing the Nailathon and seeing the total raised in my dad’s name. I know he would have been incredibly proud.”
Donations can be made via Charlie’s JustGiving page.
