Isabelle Cross Suffolk beauty pro Studio 19

Ixworth beauty professional, Isabelle Cross, completed 24 hours of back-to-back beauty appointments to raise money for Breast Cancer Now – a charity dedicated to life-changing research and care.

The 21-year-old opened the doors to her home-based business at the age of 19, and offers treatments including builder gel enhancements, gel manis and pedis, brow laminations, lash lifts, eyelash and brow tinting and waxing.

“Running my own business has been an incredibly rewarding journey of growth, learning and community support,” Isabelle says. “The fundraiser felt like a meaningful opportunity to give back, while also bringing the local community together for something truly positive.”

From 10am on 21 February until 10am the following day, Isabelle offered select beauty treatments from her salon, Studio.19. Clients and supporters were encouraged to donate to Breast Cancer Now as well as purchasing a raffle ticket – the proceeds of which were also donated.

Isabelle comments: “Breast Cancer Now is an incredible charity that supports not only those who have been affected by breast cancer, but their families. Like many people, I’ve seen first-hand the impact breast cancer can have, and I wanted to use my skills and my business in a positive way to support a cause that affects so many – including men.”

Isabelle initially told Scratch: “My goal is to raise £500, but I’m hoping to exceed that.” However, she sent an update once the event had happened: “The response was incredible. We managed to raise £2,334 for Breast Cancer Now, which is over four times my original £500 target.”

She describes seeing the final total as an ‘emotional moment’, and the endeavour itself as something she’ll ‘never forget’.

Over the 24 hours, Isabelle completed nail services including gel and builder gel manicures – pink was reportedly the most-requested shade, as well as beauty treatments such as lash lifts. She used products from Glossify, Nails by Codie, Nail Order and HD Brows throughout the fundraising marathon, in addition to donated products from LashBase and Hara Professional.

Though she reached her fundraising goal well before the deadline and considered finishing early, Isabelle powered on. “Throughout the entire event I was receiving messages from people cheering me on,” she says. “Knowing that so many people were behind me kept me going through the toughest moments.

“If this event has shown me anything, it’s the power of the beauty industry and local communities coming together for a cause,” Isabelle adds. “I really hope it encourages other salons to consider doing something similar, because the impact it can have is truly incredible.”
