“If a nail client needs length, has a challenging nail shape or regularly experiences breaks, I suggest using PureSculpt™ hard gel,” shares Charli Jepson, head of education at Glitterbels. “Brush-on builder gels are fantastic for natural nail overlays and lighter reinforcements, but PureSculpt™ is designed for technicians who seek maximum control, superior structure and a true sculpting system that performs under pressure.

Application pointers

1. Prep the nails and remove cuticle from the nail plate. Lightly etch the surface of the nail with a 180-grit file.
2. Apply Glitterbels Dehydrator followed by Acid Free Primer, and a thin base layer of PureSculpt™. Cure.
3. Apply a thin slip layer and place a bead of gel just below the cuticle area. Using light brush pressure, gently guide the bead away from the area and float across the nail plate. Use the brush to steer the product rather than push it, so the gel can self-level.
4. Work the product side to side to maintain balance, then draw towards the free edge to distribute evenly. Use a fine liner brush to neaten the product around the side walls and cuticle area before curing for 60 seconds.
5. Repeat if necessary. Finish by cleansing before filing and applying your chosen colour and top coat.
