The Mixed Media Artist of the Year creates eye-catching, multi-dimensional nail designs using a variety of professional nail systems and techniques: from 3D L&P additions to gel sculpting and hand-painting etc. The entrant is creative and imaginative, technically proficient and has an excellent understanding of colour theory.

What happens next? When entry closes on 15 March, all applications will be assessed. Five finalists in this category will be revealed on 6 April, and receive an email with details of a practical nail task. This must be completed live at the Scratch Stars judging day at Trafford & Stockport College (Stockport campus) on Monday 11 May. The scores from this will determine the winner, who will be announced at The Scratch Stars Party in London on 5 July.
