The Polish & Paint Nail Artist of the Year demonstrates exceptional hand-painting skills using professional nail products. They use nail polishes, stripers, gel paints, one stroke paints and acrylic paints to create detailed and complex flat nail art designs with depth. Picture submissions must feature flat nail designs. No airbrush art, or art created using stencils is permitted.

What happens next? When entry closes on 15 March, all applications will be assessed. Five finalists in this category will be revealed on 6 April, and receive an email with details of a practical nail task. This must be completed live at the Scratch Stars judging day at Trafford & Stockport College (Stockport campus) on Monday 11 May. The scores from this will determine the winner, who will be announced at The Scratch Stars Party in London on 5 July.
